What do you do with your vacation photos after you have chosen the best ones to place around the house?
I normally just leave them on the camera and never look back, unless I really need to. Now that I am a blogger I have gone back to some of those photos that I have taken on vacation years ago and now use them for some of my post.
So I have been thinking of other ways to utilize those neglected photos and I would like to share them with you.
1. Create a Blog
As I mentioned above, I started using some of my neglected photos when I started blogging. Blogging is a good way to show off your masterpieces. There are different type of blog niches you can start out with and use your photos. One perfect example would be a photo blog, let your photos tell your story.
2. Create a scrapbook
Scrap-booking is a fun thing for families to do together, and not just for families but also for friends. Plan a sip and scrap-booking night with friends. You can design your scrap book anyway you want and have a good laugh while doing it.
3. Create Post Cards
Create post cards for family and friends. Now would be a good time to start doing this with the holidays just around the corner. Imagine how their faces will light up when they receive the card with your picture on it.
4. Create Calendars
You can create a fun calendar with your favorite photos, not just for yourself but also for friends, family members, co-workers, or even the sweet old lady or old man next door. This would make a great gift for the new year. Walgreens offers photo services for both post cards and calendars. You can create from the comfort of your home and pick up in-store. And guess what? They also have same day pick up if you need it in a hurry. Click on this link walgreens.com to start creating.
5. Sell Them
Do you have a photo of an exotic architecture or some other breath taking view? You can monetize your photos by selling them online. There are a lot of companies online that will buy your photos or allow you to sell them on their website.
Here are a few websites that allows you to make money from your photos;
SmugMug – With SmugMug you can create your own website to start selling your photos. They also offer storage if you are just looking for somewhere to store them. SmugMug offers a 14 day free trial; Click here to get started with SmugMug.
Shutterstock – Allows you to upload your photos and get paid every time someone downloads one of them.
GettyImages – Also allows you to upload images to their site and also get paid for your photos.
6. Create your own website
Other than a blog you can create a website to sell your photos. With your own website you can set your own prices and all that money comes to you, and you can create the layout as you see fit.
